The 2027 YZ450FX adopts the updated design of the YZ450F, with a philosophical change to its base function that focuses on improving comfort and controllability in technical terrain.
Power character is focused on smoother delivery with more controllable low-RPM torque, making it easier to ride in technical conditions. The suspension characteristics have been specifically optimised to cater to the longer rides of competitive cross-country racing, providing more initial movement, comfort and compliance over slippery, rocky, and root filled terrain.

The YZ450FX's thrilling liquid-cooled DOHC four-stroke engine is designed to provide broad power character and ease-of-use, with ECU settings tailored to enhance both low-end tractability and top-end power.
The new YZ450FX adopts the YZ450F's hydraulic clutch, with a 15% reduced lever pull for reduced fatigue over longer rides.
A new air filter assembly, with the same outer resonator as the YZ450F, reduces overall noise for more comfortable riding.

High-spec fully adjustable Speed Sensitive System KYB® coil spring-type fork provides exceptional bump absorption, and features toolless compression clickers for easy adjustment and fork covers to help prevent debris damage. The linkage-type rear suspension features a KYB® shock with cross-country focused damping characteristics to match the YZ450FX's refined chassis.
Like having factory team support in your pocket, Yamaha's Power Tuner App is even more user-friendly with an intuitive “Simple Tuning” slide bar for quick engine mapping selections, new four-level Traction Control, a lap timer, and helpful engine and suspension tuning guides. The YZ450FX's slim, flat, compact body eases rider movement for improved control, including seamless, rounded features from seat edges and side covers to the narrow fuel tank and front shroud. The rider triangle is also designed to provide increased legroom between the seat and foot pegs for enhanced rider comfort.
